James R. Yard

James R. Yard, age 80 years, of Flemington, NJ, died Thursday, June 16, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Jim was born in Trenton, NJ, January 12, 1942, son of the late John and Genevieve Dubois Yard, and had resided in the Flemington area most of his life.

A 1960 graduate of Hunterdon Central Regional High School, Jim was a grocery manager for Shop-Rite, Flemington, NJ for many years and later was a self-employed spices salesperson.

Proud of his Native American ancestry, he was a thirty-nine year member of Friend of W and the Algonquin Medicine Society.

Jim was pre-deceased by his brother, Robert E. Yard, in 1934.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Tittle Yard; three daughters, Mary Kathleen Thomaszfski and her husband, Thomas, of Myrtle Beach, SC, Nancy DeFazio of Manville, NJ and Jamie Yard of Flemington, NJ; a son, Jason Yard and his wife, Karin, of Clinton, NJ and seven grandchildren.

A memorial service with a Native a American ceremony will be held Monday, June 20, 2022, at 11:00 AM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be Monday 10:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
