James T. Brown, Sr., age 86 years, of Kingwood Township, NJ, died Sunday, February 21, 2021, at Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born in Newark, NJ, March 25, 1934, son of the late Raymond and Harriet Bruce Brown, he had formerly resided in Whitehouse Station, NJ for twenty-two years and had resided in Kingwood Township since 1992.
Jim was a US Navy veteran of the Korean War serving on the aircraft carriers USS Leyte and USS Roosevelt.
He was formerly employed by Remington-Rand Corp as an office machinery repair technician.
Jim always enjoyed things mechanical and loved to tinker.
Jim enjoyed flower gardening, making model boats and boating with his family.
He was a member of VFW Post #7856 of Flemington, NJ and was a charter member of the Whitehouse Rotary Club where he was the recipient of it's first Paul Harris Fellow Award.
He was pre-deceased by a daughter, Susan Marie Scanlon, in 2008 and a son, James T. Brown, Jr., in 2018.
Surviving are his wife of sixty-three years, Patricia “Peggy” Brown; a son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Sheryl Brown of Flemington, NJ and four grandchildren, Angela Brown, James Brown III, Kaitlyn Brown and Steven Brown.
Calling hours will be Wednesday 2:00-4:00 PM at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ followed by VFW services at 4:00 PM at the funeral home.
