James W. Bartles, age 72 years, of Readington Township, NJ, died Monday, September 11, 2017, in Kindred Hospital, Dover, NJ.
Born in Princeton, NJ, January 13, 1945, son of the late Stanley H. and Evelyn Fisher Bartles, he was a lifelong Hunterdon County resident.
Jim was a 1964 graduate of Hunterdon Central Regional High School. After high school Jim joined the United States Navy serving during the Vietnam War. He was also an avid member of the Flemington Elks.
A truck driver and farmer by trade, Jim maintained and farmed the Bartles farm located in Readington Township, NJ.
Surviving are his wife of forty-nine years, Eva Gena Bartles; his four siblings, Mary Norris of Sacramento, CA, John Bartles of Finchville, KY, Judy Bugyi of Southern Shores, NC and Richard Bartles of Cranberry Township, PA; one nephew, Matthew Norris of Sacramento, CA and one niece, Jennifer Elam of Calistoga, CA.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 15, 2017, at 10:00 AM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in Newell Cemetery, Stanton, NJ. Calling hours will be held Thursday, September 14, 2017, from 6:00-8:00 PM in the funeral home.
