James W. Jaheriss

June 7, 1975 — October 4, 2021

James W. Jaheriss, age 46, died Monday, October 4, 2021, in Raritan Township. He lived in the Flemington area for many years before moving to Arvada CO in 2013. Born June 7, 1975, in Queens NY, Jim was the son of Judith (Jones) Jaheriss of Flemington NJ and the late Richard H. Jaheriss. He was a graduate of Hunterdon Central Regional High School in the Class of 1994 and received his BA from Rutgers University in 2007. Jim worked as a Lead IT Infrastructure Engineer for Lumen Technologies and loved his career and his “work family.” He loved the puzzles and the intricacies of his job in the IT field and was always seeking to continue learning in his field. Jim loved the outdoors and adventure - hiking, spending time with friends and family and going on adventures near and far. He was an avid snowboarder, a skill that he first learned at age 16, and always strived for the bigger and better mountains, which eventually led to him moving to CO. He loved just getting in the car and driving to a new destination to explore, most recently with his sister, Kristy. From the beaches to the east coast mountains (or “hills” as Jim would call them), to New York City and vacationing, they did it all. Jim had a knack for getting people to overcome fears and really live their lives to the fullest. Jim was a guy that lit up a room and made everyone feel welcome just by a smile or a wave. He loved to tell jokes and was put on this earth to make people laugh and help them find their true potential. Jim spent the last two months reconnecting with his East Coast family and spending time hiking, hanging out with his niece and nephew, and finding new good eats! Jim was predeceased by his father, Richard H. Jaheriss in 2006. He is survived by his mother, Judy Jaheriss of Flemington, NJ, his sister, Kristy Jaheriss, of High Bridge, NJ, his brother-in-law, Kristian Gilbreath, of High Bridge, NJ, his niece, Sydney Heffernan, his nephew, Hunter Heffernan, both of High Bridge, NJ, and his “Covid dog,“ Brahms, a 3½ year old puppy, now residing in High Bridge. They were inseparable in life and the adventures they had. Brahms was just as happy and game for adventures as Jim was, and they were a perfect father/puppy pair! A Eulogy service to celebrate Jim’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, October 21, 2021, at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
