Jane B. Newitt

Jane B. Newitt, age 87 years, of Yardley, PA, died Sunday, December 27, 2020, at Floral Creek Special Care, Yardley, PA. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, April 15, 1933, daughter of the late Hans N. and Ruth Jewel Boetcher, Jane had formerly resided in Briarcliff, NY and then had resided in Delaware Township, Hunterdon County, NJ for thirty-two years. Jane was a graduate of Swarthmore College and received her Master's Degree from Sarah Lawrence University. A demographer and policy researcher, she was formerly employed by the Hudson Institute, Croton-On-Hudson, NY and Indianapolis, IN think tank for twenty years. Her husband of sixty-three years, J. William "Bill" Newitt, died in 2018. Surviving are a daughter, Katherine W. Newitt of Oakland, CA; two sons and daughters-in-law, David C. Newitt and Heather MacKay of Oakland, CA and Andrew N. and Jennifer Newitt of Bayville, NY; her sister, Ruth Ellen Joeres of St. Paul, MN; and her grandson, Tyler Newitt and granddaughter, Julia Newitt. Services and interment will be private under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
