Janet F. Thatcher

Janet F. Thatcher, age 92 years, formerly of Flemington, NJ, died Friday, October 7, 2016, at Warren Haven Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, Oxford, NJ.

Born in Orange, NJ, March 20, 1924, daughter of the late Edward K. and Helen Liberty Davis, she had resided in the Flemington area most of her life.

Janet was formerly a secretary with the Hunterdon County Supt. of Schools office, Flemington, NJ, until retiring. She also served in the Women's Army Corps during World War II and also formerly worked for the Civil Defense during World War II.

Janet was a member of the Flemington Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.

Her husband, Robert H. Thatcher, died in 2004.

Surviving are three sons, Philip Thatcher of Readington Township, NJ, Thomas Thatcher of Easton, PA, and Robert R. Thatcher of Los Angeles, CA; nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 11, 2016, at 11:00 AM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in Cherryville Mountainview Cemetery, Cherryville, NJ. Calling hours will be Monday from 7:00-9:00 PM at the funeral home.
