Janet S. Friend

Janet S. Friend, age 59 years, of Holland Township, NJ, died Thursday, April 1, 2004 at the Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born in Plainfield, NJ April 28, 1944, she had resided in Holland Township for the past twelve years, having previously resided in Milford Borough, NJ for twenty years. She was the daughter of Doris Gedeon Bowers, of Venice, FL., and the late Gordon Wade Goldrick.

She was the Director of the Hunterdon County Library System. She received her B.A. in English from Miami (Ohio) University, and completed a Masters Degree in Library Science at Rutgers University.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of thirty-seven years, Thomas I. Friend; a daughter, Sarah Ellen Goldrick Friend, of Nokomis, FL; and two sisters: Nancie J. Townsend, of Fremont, CA, and Sharon L. Oremland, of Rockville, MD.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday at 7 PM at the Flemington Baptist Church, Church Street and Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be private. There will be no calling hours.
