Janice V. Casavant

d. March 6, 2014

Janice Virginia Casavant, age 31 years, passed away Thursday night, March 6, 2014, with loving family by her side; her twin sister was holding her hand. Janice put up a month long fight, but her eventual passing was due to complications from the severe injuries that she suffered, in a multiple car accident on February 5, 2014.

Born Janice Virginia Monteforte on June 23, 1982, to Mary Salussolia and Nickolas Monteforte, in Elizabeth, NJ, she spent the first year of her life in Scotch Plains, NJ, before the family relocated to Flemington. Janice was the youngest of four girls- but not by much, as she was a twin. Janice attended Immaculata High School, where she became involved with Young Life and was on the student council. She made lifelong friends, and graduated in 2001. Later she received her associates degree from RVCC, followed by her webmaster certificate, in 2003. Janice met the love of her life, Kevin Casavant, at Healthquest of Flemington in 2003; it was love at first sight. They married on July 22, 2006, in a small ceremony, surrounded by family and close friends.

Janice was employed by Verizon Wireless in Flemington. She worked in sales at the retail store. She left a lasting impression on many of her customers, with her sweet personality, glowing smile, her product knowledge and undeniable passion for her career, and of course, her unforgettable strawberry blond hair. Janice had a unique and special ability to deal with people, which did not go unnoticed, as many of her customers always came back to see her.

Janice’s number one commitment in life was her family. She had unending love and passion for her husband and 3 children; Christian, 13, Jacob, 6, and Rachel, 3. She always made sure that they had what they needed; she took care of her husband, her household, and selflessly stood by her family in many times of need. She loved holidays, because she got to spend them with her entire extended family.

She was involved with many volunteer activities through St Paul’s Lutheran Church and would jump at the chance to be a part of any activity that had to do with family and/or children. Janice loved to cook. Some of her other hobbies included making jewelry for her friends and family, scrapbooking, crafting and making greeting cards. She loved to shop, and was always sharply dressed and put together; exhibiting her signature red hair.

Janice is survived by her husband and children: Kevin A Casavant, Jacob and Rachel Casavant and Christian Serra. Her Parents Mary Salussolia of Flemington, NJ; Nickolas Monteforte of Nashua NH; her twin sister Kate Monteforte; sister Lauren Monteforte; half sister Susan Monteforte Lincoski of State College, PA; nieces Elisabeth Sadie and Paige; Maternal grandparents Virginia and Philip Beischer of Florham Park, NJ; Aunt, Phyllis Sisolak of Woodland Park, CO; In-laws Kay and George Casavant of Stockton, NJ; plus many other family members, and friends. She is predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Sam and Agnes Monteforte of Sarasota, FL; and her stepfather, Bruce Salussolia.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the “Christian, Jake and Rachel Hope for the Future Fund”. Donations can be sent directly to TD bank at 288 Route 202/31, Flemington, NJ, 08822. Please reference the name of the fund.
