Jaroslaw "Jerry" Klymec

Jaroslaw “Jerry” Klymec, age 73 years, died Sunday, June 21, 2020 at his home in Kingwood Township surrounded by his family. Born October 19, 1946, in Neumark, Germany (now Poland), Jerry was the son of the late Gregory and Maria Klymec. He immigrated to the United States and served in the United States Army, 9th Infantry Division, providing reconnaissance in the canals during the Vietnam War. He married Catherine Poloski in 1968 after being honorably discharged from the Army and the two lived in the Plainfields, Linden, and Woodbridge NJ, before finding their current residence in Kingwood Township in 1986, where they have lived since. Jerry worked for many years for AC Compacting Presses in various capacities. He was a Manager of Customer Service, was responsible for the internal inventory controls, as well as the importing and exporting of equipment and parts. primarily for the pharmaceutical industry. Eventually, Jerry and Cathie became realtors with Coldwell Banker Real Estate in the Flemington office, working together as a team to serve many local families with their outstanding service. Jerry was a long-time member of the Flemington Tennis Club and was known for his exceptional serve. He enjoyed rooting for his favorite sports teams including the New York Jets and Yankees, as well as his favorite tennis players, Rod Laver and Roger Federer. He coached his son, Adam, in youth soccer and Little League baseball as well as a Cub Master for the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts, Troop 251 in Kingwood Township, Cathie and Jerry often took trips together throughout the United States, many to Martha’s Vinyard in Massachusetts and a memorable one to South Dakota during the Bicentennial celebration. Jerry was a fan of acapella music as well as the early rock n’ roll of the 1950’s; he could be found watching his favorite movie, ‘The Godfather,’ or other movies on Netflix. You might often find Jerry reading the latest Tom Clancy novel, however, his favorite book to read was the Bible, which he read from frequently. His faith was very important and he was a long-time member of Our Lady of Victories Church in Baptistown NJ. Jerry enjoyed growing his vegetable and flower garden at his home, and he and Cathie liked to go antiquing together in Hunterdon and Bucks County. Most of all, Jerry was a very gentle, soft-spoken man, who could often be heard saying, “Relax…OK, fine” to all those who loved him dearly. Jerry is survived by his wife of more than 51 years, Catherine Poloski Klymec, his daughter, Candace V. Klymec of Flemington, NJ, his son and daughter-in-law, Adam L. Klymec and Denise Torbik of Raritan Township, his sister, Anna Garelick of South Plainfield NJ, and his brother -in-law, Joseph Polosky of Hampton NJ. A memorial Mass at Our Lady of Victories Church and burial in Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown PA, will be held privately. A celebration of Jerry’s life will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, in Flemington NJ.
