Jeanie C. Powell

Jeanie C. Powell, age 69 years, of West Amwell Township, NJ, died on Saturday, October 18, 2008 in Princeton University Medical Center, Princeton, NJ.

Born in Chattanooga, TN, August 11, 1939, she was the daughter of the late James and Pearl Posey Campbell.

A graduate of Davis and Elkins College, WV, she retired from teaching at the West Amwell Elementary School in 2005. She received the Governor's Teacher Recognition Award in 1987 and 2005. She was a member of the NJEA and AARP.

Surviving are a daughter, Elizabeth Robinson, of West Amwell Township, NJ; a son, Jason Powell, of London, England; two grandchildren, Lukas Robinson and Kate Robinson; two sisters, Wanda Campbell of Mont Laurier, Canada, and Laila Millar of San Jose, CA; and a brother, Malcolm Campbell of Berkeley, CA.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 11 AM in the Sand Brook Church, Sand Brook, NJ. Interment will be in Sand Brook Cemetery, Sand Brook, NJ. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 6-9 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
