Jeanne A. Spangler, age 89 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Wednesday, September 10, 2008, at her residence.
Born in Elizabeth, NJ, November 21, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Sadie McGrath Summerton. She had formerly resided in Colonia, NJ.
She was a retired teacher spending most of her career at St. Cecelia School, Iselin, NJ, retiring in 1993.
She was a communicant of St. Magdalen Church, Flemington, NJ.
Her husband, Raymond Spangler, Sr., died in 1994. Surviving are five sons; Raymond Spangler, Jr. of Marlboro, NY, Richard Spangler of Millsboro, DE, David Spangler of Topaz, CA, Donald Spangler of Long Valley, NJ, and Dennis Spangler of Barnegat, NJ; two daughters, Anne Tracey of Tucson, AZ, and Mary Sansone of Raritan Township, NJ; a sister, Ruth McGrath of Morris Plains, NJ; a brother, Douglas Summerton of Newport, NH; twenty-one grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 AM in St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia, NJ. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
