Jerome Morris Levy, age 73 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Thursday, May 26, 2011 at Independence Manor, Raritan Township, NJ.
Mr. Levy was born in New York, NY on January 18, 1938 to the late Lewis and Dorothy Kiser Levy. Prior to college, Mr. Levy played baseball with the New York Bullets Baseball Club. He graduated from Hunter College in 1960 with a degree in English and served in the Air National Guard of the State of New York from 1956-1960, and in the United States Air Force Reserves from 1960-1962. He lived in El Paso, TX for over forty years prior to moving to New Jersey one and one half years ago.
Mr. Levy worked for State National Bank and Compass Bank, El Paso, TX before retiring in 2009. He was a sports enthusiast who enjoyed playing baseball, softball and basketball and was a life-long Yankees fan. He was a longtime member of Temple Mount Sinai, El Paso, TX.
Mr. Levy is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Jacqueline and Christopher Baker of Denver, CO and Jessica and Michael Meyer of Clinton Township, NJ; and five grandchildren, Alyssa, Julia and Ryan Baker and Caitlin and Anna Meyer. He was pre-deceased by a son, Jeffrey Levy and a brother, Frederick Levy.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, June 5, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
