Joan Boyce Smith, age 81 years, of Pittstown, Franklin Township, NJ, died on Friday, April 16, 2010.
Born in Yonkers, NY, November 6, 1928, she was the daughter of the late John W. and Anna Boyce. She had resided in River Vale, NJ and Hillsdale, NJ, before moving to Pittstown in 1978.
A graduate of Packard Business College, Joan was an executive secretary. She worked at the South Branch Watershed Association both as a secretary and volunteer water steward before her retirement. She was an active member of the Women’s Club of Clinton.
Joan was pre-deceased by her beloved husband, James Douglas Smith, in 1992, her brother, John W. Boyce, Jr., in 1980, and her sister, Dorothy Boyce TenEyck, in 1997.
Surviving are a daughter, Claire S. Thompson and her husband, John, of Little Silver, a son, Christopher G. Smith and his wife, Star, of West Windsor, and five grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Services and Interment in Fair View Cemetery, Middletown, NJ will be private. Please visit www.holcombefisher.com for further information or to send condolences.
