Joann L. Poles

Joann L. Poles, age 80 years, of Delaware Township, NJ, died on Monday, May 24. 2010, at her residence.

Born in Staten Island, NY, July 29, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Ralph W. and Gladys Diveny Van Nostrand. She had resided in Delaware Township since 1987, and had formerly resided in Toms River, NJ.

A homemaker, she was a member of the Sergeantsville United Methodist Church and its Women's Bible Study Group; the Delaware Township Senior Citizens, and the Copper Penny's singing group.

Her husband, George Poles, died in 1990. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Russell and Janet Poles of Delaware Township, NJ, David and Marge Poles of Doylestown, PA; a daughter and son-in-law, Wendy and Chris Wood of Delaware Township, NJ; a sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn and Dick Smith of Stockton, NJ; a sister-in-law, Dee Van Nostrand of Louisville, KY; eight grandchildren: Corey Wood, Andrew Poles, Jeff Wood, Megan Pongratz, Erin Poles, Cailen Poles, Christopher Wood, and Hannah Poles; and two great-grandchildren, Sophie Wood and Olivia Wood.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 10 AM in the Sergeantsville United Methodist Church, Sergeantsville, NJ. Interment will be in Rosemont Cemetery, Rosemont, NJ. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 7-9 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
