Joel Richard Kent, Sr.

Joel Richard Kent, Sr., age 72 years, of Franklin Township, Hunterdon County, died peacefully after a long illness on Saturday, November 24, 2007, in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick, NJ.

Born in Trenton, NJ, August 15, 1935, he was the son of the late Wesley and Catherine Shea Kent.

A maintenance mechanic, he was formerly employed by Tenneco, Raritan Township, NJ, then by MEI Corp., Kingwood Township, NJ, and then by Hunterdon Transformer, Quakertown, NJ.

He was a United States Navy veteran of the Korean War.

A communicant of St. Catherine of Siena Church, Pittstown, NJ, he enjoyed traveling and taking long car rides.

Surviving are his wife of forty-three years, Joan Smith Kent; two daughters and sons-in-law, Denise and Glenn Campbell of Easton, PA, and Jami and James Keigler of Bridgewater, NJ; three sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Michele Tinnes of Queen Creek, AZ, Brian and Trish Kent of Ormond, FL, and Joel and Patty Kent II of Newtown, PA; eight grandchildren: Gary Wilson, Forrest Keigler, Shawn Cobb, Val Cobb, Joe Tinnes, Eric Tinnes, Joel Kent III, and Andrew Kent, and many great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services and interment will be private. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
