Johanna Smith

Johanna Smith, age 87 years, of Stroudsburg, PA. died Thursday, September 15, 2016, at Hospice House of Monroe County, Stroudsburg, PA.

Born in Franklin Township, Hunterdon County, NJ, September 13, 1929, daughter of the late Martin and Amalia Herman Mansch, she had formerly resided in the Flemington area, then in Jutland, NJ and had resided in the Stroudsburg area for twenty-seven years.

Johanna was a homemaker and also a mechanic, helping her late husband with his trucking business.

Johanna and her husband, Arthur Smith, Sr. were married for seventy years. Arthur Smith, Sr. died September 13, 2016, at their home two days prior to Johanna'a death.

She was pre-deceased by a son, John, and a daughter, Joanne Smith.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Arthur Smith, Jr. and his wife, Connie, of Cobleskill, NY; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and a sister, Bertha Young of Wappinger's Falls, NY.

Joint funeral services for Johanna and Art will be held Saturday, September 24, 2016, at 11:00 AM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be held Saturday, September 24, 10:00-11:00 AM at the funeral home.
