John A. Quick, age 81 years, of Quakertown, NJ (Franklin Township), died on Monday, December 5, 2011, in the Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born in Baptistown, NJ, December 22, 1929, son of the late Abram and Agnes Vail Quick, he had resided in Hunterdon County all his life.
A former self-employed builder, he was also formerly employed by the Hunterdon County Buildings & Grounds Department, Flemington, NJ.
He was a 1949 graduate of Flemington High School; a life member of both the Quakertown Fire Company and the Quakertown Recreation Club; and was also a member of the Quakertown Odd Fellows Lodge.He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War.
His wife, June Melick Quick, died in 2003, a son, John Quick in 1985 and a daughter, Jill Quick, in 1982. He was also pre-deceased by a brother, Abram Quick and a sister, Jeannette Oakes.
Surviving are two sons, Jeffrey Quick, of Milford, NJ and Joel Quick, of Quakertown, NJ; a brother, Kenneth Quick, of Bedford, VA; and two grandchildren, Michael Quick and Mackenzie Quick.
Memorial Services will be held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. There will be no calling hours. Interment will be private. Please visit www.holcombefisher.com for further information or to send condolences.
