John Andrew Reid, age 72 years, of Ringoes, NJ (East Amwell Township) died Thursday, December 1, 2016, at Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born in San Francisco, CA., son of John Andrew and Marguerite Reid, he had formerly resided in Bucks County, PA. and had resided in the Ringoes area since 1979.
Andy owned and operated a plumbing contracting firm for many years and was an entrepreneur who patented a system for low yield wells with which he was currently involved.
Active for many years in his community, he was a former member of the East Amwell Township Committee; a founding member and former President of the Amwell Valley Business Association; and formerly served on several East Amwell Township boards.
Andy was also a member of the Hopewell United Methodist Church and was a private pilot and member of the Aircraft Owners & Pilots Association.
Surviving are his wife of thirty years, Karen Schimpf Reid; a son and daughter-in-law, Bryan and Krystal Kramer of Raleigh, NC.; three grandchildren, Kristen, Hunter and William Kramer, all of Raleigh, NC; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Larry and Shirley Schimpf, Diane and Charles Kovacs and Debbie and Todd Kliment; several nieces and nephews and many cousins
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at 11:00 AM in Hopewell United Methodist Church, Hopewell, NJ. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery, Hopewell, NJ. Calling hours will be Monday 6:00-8:00 PM at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hopewell United Methodist Church, 20 Blackwell Avenue, Hopewell, NJ 08525.
