John D. Fenwick, Jr., age 96 years, of Port Trevorton, PA, died Thursday, January 8, 2015, at Penns Village Nursing Home, Selingsgrove, PA.
Born in Clover Hill, NJ, September 22, 1918, son of the late John D. and Alice Packer Fenwick, Sr., he was a lifelong farmer, first in Clinton Township, NJ and later in Port Treverton, PA.
He was a member of Witmer's United Methodist Church, Port Treverton, PA. and was a graduate of Flemington High School, Class of 1936. John also was formerly a school bus driver for Hunterdon Central High School, Flemington, NJ, for twenty-five years and was a US Navy veteran of World War 2.
His wife of seventy-one years, Hillena Voorhees Fenwick, died in 2012.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Lisa Fenwick III of Fort Ann, NY, and James and Wendy Fenwick of Wrightsville, PA; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Richard Opdyke of Benton, PA. and Ruth and Dennis Hebert of Indialantic, Florida; two sisters, Gladys O'Brien and Jean Freund, both of Clover Hill, NJ; ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 13, 2015, at 10:30 AM in Clover Hill Reformed Church, 890 Amwell Road, Clover Hill, NJ. Interment will be in Clover Hill Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday 7:00-9:00 PM at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Memorial contributions may be made to Clover Hill Reformed Church, 890 Amwell Rd., Hillsborough, NJ 08844.
