John D. Gould, age 89 years, of Hillsborough Township, NJ, died Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at Foothill Acres Nursing Home, Hillsborough, NJ.

Born in Detroit, MI, November 15, 1929, son of the late Harry Shiloh and Mary Lamb Gould, he had formerly resided in Asheville, NC and Grosse Pointe, MI.

A United States Marines veteran serving during the Korean War, John was an accountant for Ernst & Young and one of the youngest original partners of the firm. John worked and lived in many places around the world including England, France and Belgium. He was an avid tennis player, enjoyed skiing and enjoyed musical theater.

He is predeceased by one sister Mary Teachout. Surviving are his wife Joan Taylor Gould; former wife, Jane Gould of New Providence, NJ; three daughters, Katharine Power and her husband, Patrick of Wethersfield, CT, Martha Heinkel and her husband, Bob of Readington, NJ and Anne Gould and her husband, Ken of Mocksville, NC; five grandchildren, Breen, Faye, Andrew, Alex, and Jack and three great-grandchildren, Anna, Michael and Georgina.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 16, 2019 at 10:00 AM in St. John's Episcopal Church, Somerville, NJ, under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be held privately in North Carolina.
