John E. Koellisch, age 78 years, of Clinton Township, NJ, passed away on the evening of Tuesday, November 7, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.
He was the son of the late John and Anna Koellisch. After growing up in Newark, as a young man, John served in United States Army, stationed in Germany before his honorable discharge.
John went to night school for twelve years at NJIT and achieved his Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology and his Master’s Degree in Industrial and Management Engineering. He went on to work for Hewlett-Packard (HP) for fifteen years as a Supply Quality Engineer. Additionally, he worked briefly at Flextronics, as Director of Quality before his retirement.
John was an avid New York Yankees and New York Giants fan. He also enjoyed traveling, photography, reading, watching movies, computers, a good meal, birthday barbeques, but most of all, he loved his family and playing card games around the kitchen table with them.
He was a member of American Society for Quality and was involved with Boy Scout Troop 154 for many years until his son obtained the rank of Eagle.
Surviving are his wife, Marlene Koellisch; son, David Koellisch and his wife Meredeth; grandchildren, John and Megan; sister, Mary Ann Koellisch-Serito; as well as his brother-in-law Kenneth Jordan and his wife, Karen.
Memorial services and burial with military honors in the family plot at Crest Haven Memorial Park, Clifton, NJ will be announced at a later date and time to be determined by the family.
