John E. Kotulich, age 81 years, of Readington Township, NJ died on Sunday, April 10, 2016 in Kindred Hospital, Dover, NJ.
Born in Passaic, NJ, November 6, 1934, he was the son of the late Elias and Pauline Zajac Kotulich.
John was a self-employed farmer. Always willing, he didn't care who you were, he lent a hand or a ride as needed and always with a sense of humor. A member of NOFANJ and the Food Shed Alliance, he was a raw milk advocate practicing organic farming as a teenager, long before it was popular. After leaving the family farm, he worked for himself as an air conditioning contractor and installed and advocated solar thermal systems early. He will be sorely missed, especially by those who enjoyed listening to him sing.
Surviving are his daughter, Deborah Kotulich, of Arlington, VA; his son, Mark Kotulich, of Phillipsburg, NJ; his siblings: Florence Szymanski of Flemington, NJ, Joseph Kotulich of Stewartsville, NJ, Helen Lindsay of Millington, NJ, Julian Kotulich of Flemington, NJ, and Marion Romanoski of Bridgewater, NJ; his granddaughter, Natalie; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2016 from 1-5 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be private.
