John F. Cunningham, age 81 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Sunday, January 18, 2015 in the Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township, NJ. Born in Brooklyn, NY, November 3, 1933, he was the son of the late Thomas and Margaret Brogan Cunningham, and had resided in Raritan Township for over fifty years. He retired from Belcor Communications (formerly AT&T). He was a United States Navy veteran of the Korean War, serving in Guam. He was a communicant of St. Magdalen Church, Flemington, NJ; Flemington Elks Lodge #1928; and the VFW/American Legion Post, Flemington, NJ. He was predeceased by a son, Kevin, in 2014, and his siblings: Mike, Thomas, and Josephine. Surviving are his wife, Brenda Trousdale Cunningham: two sons and daughters-in-law, John Jr. and Maureen Cunningham of Flemington, NJ, and Martin and Patty Cunningham of Flemington, NJ; a daughter and son-in-law, Maura and Mark Taggert of Sergeantsville, NJ; a daughter-in-law, Sandra Cunningham of Huntington, VT; a brother and sister-in-law, Gerard and Theresa Cunningham, of Valley Stream, NY; eleven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, January 25, 2015 from 1-4 PM at the Flemington Elks Lodge, 165 Route 31, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
