John J. Murphy, age 55 years, of East Amwell Township, NJ, died on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at his residence.
Born in Staten Island, NY, January 8, 1955, he was the son of the late William and Anastasia Keeney Murphy. He had formerly resided in Bloomfield, NJ.
He was a graduate of NJIT and was an electrical contractor, owning and operating S.M. Electric, Rahway, NJ.
He was a Past President and Governor of the National Electrical Contractors Association, and was an active member of the American Subcontractors Association.
Surviving are his wife of thirty-three years, Pamela Morano Murphy; three sons: Sean of Easton, PA, James of Danvers, MA, and Kevin Murphy of Wilmington, NC; a sister, Mary Ellen Cilento of Staten Island, NY; and four brothers; William of Staten Island, NY, Donald of Haddonfield, NJ, Jerry of Pittstown, NJ, and Vince Murphy of Albuquerque, NM.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 2-5 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be private.
