John Louis Bittle, Jr., age 71 years, of Sebastian, FL, died Thursday, July 30, 2009 at his residence.
He was born July 9, 1938 in Neshanic Station, NJ.
He was predeceased by his mother, Mary, in December of 2008 and his father, John, in November of 1980.
Mr. Bittle was born and raised in New Jersey and served in the United States Army in both the United States and Germany during the Cold War in the early 1960’s. He was a member of the Hillsborough Township Police Department from 1965 to 1976 where he attained the rank of Sergeant. He was also a member of the Neshanic Volunteer Fire Company for many years.
He was additionally employed by Raritan Valley Disposal in Readington, NJ before moving to Florida approximately 25 years ago where he worked for Fisher & Son of Sebastian.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Bittle of Sebastian, FL; a son, Patrick Bittle and his wife Sonia of Indianapolis, IN; a grandson, Travis of Indianapolis, IN; a brother, Thomas Bittle and his wife Sharon of Neshanic, NJ; a step-grandson, A.J. Whitney of Sebastian, FL; an aunt, Joan Crum of Hillsborough, NJ; a niece, Robyn Abramo and her husband, Steven of Neshanic, NJ; a nephew, Jason Bittle and his wife, Lisa of Grand Junction, CO; and several great nieces and great nephews.
Memorial Services will take place Saturday, August 8, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in Neshanic Cemetery, Hillsborough, NJ under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Please visit www.holcombefisher.com for further information or to send condolences.
