John L. Lutz III, age 49 years, of Maplewood, NJ, passed away with his beloved mother at his side on Sunday, January 24, 2010, in The Center For Hope Hospice, Scotch Plains, NJ.
He spent his last days in the company of many family members and friends who's lives he had touched in the special way that John was known for.
Born in Elizabeth, NJ, March 23, 1960, he was the son of Margaret Durkin Lutz of Flemington, NJ and John Lutz, Jr. of Stockton, NJ.
Mr. Lutz was the owner/operator of Essex County Trikes, Maplewood, NJ and a respected member of the community there.
He was a former member of the Kingwood Township Rescue Squad.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are his wife, Anne Lutz and his stepchildren, Emily and Benjamin Kaplan, all of Maplewood, NJ; his daughters, Amanda and Ondrea Lutz of High Bridge, NJ. He will be deeply missed by his sisters Patricia Barabas, Margaret Zimmerman, and Mary Ann Lutz, and by his extended family and a large group of caring friends.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 AM in St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ, under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be private. There will be no calling hours.
