John M. Oliphant

John M. Oliphant, age 85 years, of Readington Township, NJ, died Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born in Iselin, NJ, December 16, 1931, son of the late Charles W. and Catherine Schluken Oliphant, he had formerly resided in North Edison, NJ.

A United States Air Force veteran, John was the owner and operator of JoMad Agency, Real-estate Insurance, Rahway, NJ.

A dog lover, John was a member of the Collie Club of America, Quarter Century Club, and Collie Health Foundation.

He was pre-deceased by his two brothers, Charles Oliphant and Fredrick Oliphant. Surviving are his wife Madeline Oliphant; one daughter and son-in-law, Jacqueline Oliphant and James Trier of Branchburg, NJ; one brother Vincent Oliphant of Corvallis, OR and one granddaughter Juliette Trier.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at 9:30 AM in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 390 County Road 523, Whitehouse Station, NJ. Interment will be private. Calling hours will be held on Monday, February 6, 2017 from 4:00-7:00 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
