John R. Depaola

John R. DePaola, age 79 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Thursday, January 5, 2023, at his home.

Born in Elizabeth, NJ, October 30, 1943, he was the son of the late Stanley and Angelina (Iacovino) DePaola. He grew up in Elizabeth and Hillside, NJ, but had resided for the last forty years in Hunterdon County, NJ.

After graduating high school, he attended the General Motors Automotive Trade School. He then had a thirty-five-year career as an automotive sales manager working for numerous employers including Sansone Auto Group in Woodbridge, NJ.

He was a former member of the Italian American Club and current member of the Reaville Sportsmen Association, Flemington, NJ.

He enjoyed sport shooting, fishing, and woodworking. Additionally, he was an avid car enthusiast, known to be able to fix anything car related. His family also remembers that he was very sociable and the life of the party.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two siblings, Kathy Pietri and Philip DePaola.

Surviving are his wife of twenty-six years, Joyce M. (Valo) Liobis; three children, John R. DePaola of Jackson, NJ, Cheryl DePaola of Coconut Creek, FL, and Jennifer Gorman of Flemington, NJ; four grandchildren, Justin DePaola, Jason Gorman, Jacob Gorman, and Jenna Gorman; as well as his sibling, Fran Tamayo.
