John R. Reynolds, age 54, of Kingwood Township, NJ, died unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, December 28, 2016. He has lived in Hunterdon County for the past 27 years.
Born August 15, 1962, in New Brunswick NJ, John was the son of John A. and Lorraine (Phillips) Reynolds of Greenwood, Delaware. Raised in Somerville, NJ, John was a graduate of Somerville High School in the Class of 1980, where he was known as “Hacksaw,” as a linebacker on the football team.
After graduation, he attended Raritan Valley Community College and later became a Journeyman electrician. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Somerville Local #262, and then with Paterson Local #102.
He loved the game of football, to fish and snow ski, especially at Bolton Valley Resort in Vermont, and after moving to Kingwood Township, became an avid bird-watcher. Most of all, he loved his family and being a proud homeowner, taking meticulous care of his house, yard, and pool for all to enjoy. He will be missed by so many friends and his family.
In addition to his parents, John is survived by his wife of 27 years, Laura Bradley Reynolds, his two sons, Ian Reynolds and Bradley Reynolds, both of Kingwood Township, his sister, Tracy Schlack of Saylorsburg PA, his grandmother, Rita Phillips of Harrington DE, his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Scott and Tricia Bradley of Kingwood Township, his four nieces and nephews, Cameron and Rhianna Bradley, Nicole and Cory Schlack, as well as several aunts and uncles, Barbara and Ralph Sena, Trudy and Tony Sena, Roberta Reynolds, Donald Reynolds, and numerous cousins.
Funeral service officiated by the Rev. James DeVries will be held at 3:00 pm on Monday, January 2, 2017 at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington NJ. Cremation will follow privately. Calling hours will be from 12 noon until the time of service at the funeral home.
