John Raymond Finlayson

John Raymond Finlayson, beloved husband, father and grandfather, died peacefully on April 20, 2010.

Known as Ray, he was born August 31, 1918 to Marie and Alexander Finlayson in Philadelphia. He served honorably in the US Army during World War II and while on leave, met the love of his life, Mary W. Boales at a USO dance in Philadelphia. They celebrated 57 years of marriage until her death in 2006.

A devoted Dad, he treasured their two children, Mary Lou Finlayson Quinlan and Jack Finlayson. After a 35 year career with Monroe Calculating, Ray and Mary retired to Ft. Myers, Florida and for 30 years, spent summers with their childrens’ families in Uhlerstown, PA and Morristown, NJ. In addition to Mary Lou and Jack, he is survived by son-in-law Joe Quinlan, daughter-in-law Sandy Finlayson and grand-daughters Kelley and Meghan Finlayson.

Services will be held privately in Pennsylvania and Ft. Myers. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent in his name to the Monastery of St. Clare, 6029 Estero Boulevard, Ft.
