John W. Anaya

John W. Anaya, age 98 years, of Delaware Township NJ, died Thursday, June 1, 2017 at his home.

Born October 12, 1918, in Bartley NJ, John was the son of the late Palmer and Margaret (Huppert) Anaya. He lived for many years in Somerset NJ before retiring to Delaware Township in 1986.

He served his country during World War II in the United States Army.

John worked at Merrill Lynch for 32 years before retiring in 1986. He was a founding member of the Board of Directors of the Navesink House in Red Bank NJ and later served as a Board member of Brightside Adult Care Center in Flemington NJ. John was a member of the Flemington Baptist Church.

He loved the peace and tranquility of his Delaware Township home, and watching his favorite programming on FOX News.

John is survived by his wife of 41 years, Helen Leone Anaya, his two daughters, Faith Anaya of Little Rock AR, and Lee Whittier of Vancouver WA, his grandson, Max Goldberg, and his brother, Sam Anaya of Richmond VA.

A memorial service officiated by the Rev. Pamela Reed will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, June 5, 2017 at the Flemington Baptist Church, 170 Main Street, Flemington NJ. Interment of cremated remains will be private.

Cremation services are private an under the direction of Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
