John “Bill” Young, a devoted husband, father and grandfather of Stockton, NJ, died peacefully at home on Monday, December 12, 2016.
In 1931, “Billy” was the only child born to LeRoy Ealer Young and Pauline Johnson Young in Lumberville, PA, where he resided until 1955. In April 1953, he married his high school sweetheart “Kay”, who spent 63 years by his side. The two started their life together in Solebury, PA and in 1980 they moved to Stockton, NJ, where they spent the last 36 years together.
John served his country proudly in the United States Army and is a Korean War Veteran. He worked at the New Hope Bag Mill followed by 43 years as a Turbine Tester at DeLaval located in Trenton, NJ.
An avid fisherman, John loved to take his boat up on the Delaware River along the banks of Lumberville where he would reminisce about his life and enjoy the peace it brought him. He always felt in all his travels, there was no place more beautiful than the area in which he lived. A collector of old decoys, John taught himself the art of hand carving and painting beautiful waterfowl decoys and puffins. This led him to enter shows and exhibits which proudly earned him over 90 prize ribbons.
John is survived by his loving wife Kay Stintsman Young and daughter, Wanda Young Foy (Newtown, PA). He was blessed with two loving grandchildren, Cody Foy (Newtown, PA) and Ariel Foy Zicuis and her husband Paul (Doylestown, PA). He is also survived by his brother-in-law Robert Stintsman (Chalfont).
