John Winecker, Jr.

John Winecker, Jr., age 83 years, of Delaware Township, NJ, died on Thursday, January 7, 2010, in the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born in Annandale, NJ, September 27, 1926, he was the son of the late John and Mary Gyure Winecker, Sr. He was a lifelong resident of Hunterdon County, NJ.

He was employed by E.M. Haynes, Jr. Fuel Oil Distributors for over twenty years and was formerly employed at Kuhl Corporation. He was also a self-employed general contactor.

He was a United States Army veteran of World War II.

He was a former trustee of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Raritan Township, NJ, and was formerly a member of American Legion Post #159 and Flemington VFW Post #7856.

Surviving are his wife Margaret Stehlo Winecker; four daughters, JoAnn Zackey of Danielsville, PA, Mary Mahoney of Callicoon, NY, Christine Slack of Stockton, NJ, and April Jensen of Nazareth, PA; a son, John Winecker III of Ringoes, NJ; a sister, Dorothy Bauer of Raritan Township, NJ; twelve grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at 11 AM in Central Hunterdon Baptist Church, 325 Route 31, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be private. There will be no calling hours.
