John Yankowski, age 91 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Wednesday April 2, 2014 in the Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born in Bayonne, NJ, March 20, 1923, he was the son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Yankowski.
John worked on the family farm and was a Job Setter for General Motors in Trenton, NJ.
John was an avid hunter and fisherman and a member of the Flemington-Raritan Rod and Gun Club.
John was pre-deceased by three sisters, Sophie Mallick, Mary Browski, Anne Piell and one brother, Joseph Yankowski. Surviving are his wife of sixty years, Norma Yankowski of Raritan Township, NJ and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 7, 2014 at 10 AM in St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Staten Island, New York. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2-4 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
