Jose E. Velez

Jose E. Velez, age 80 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Tuesday, September 15, 2009 in the Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born in Vieques, Puerto Rico, August 1, 1929, son of the late Eugene and Margarita Carrillo Velez, he had resided in Raritan Township for the past twenty years, having formerly lived in Brooklyn, NY.

A Communicant of St. Magdalen Church, Flemington, NJ, Mr. Velez was formerly a Factory Worker for many years.

Surviving are his wife of fifty-five years, Lillian D. Padilla Velez; a son, Jose Adam Velez of Staten island, NY; three daughters, Brizeida Vazquez of Raritan Township, NJ, Brunilda Camporeale of Raritan Township, NJ and Nilsa Aponte of Raritan Towship, NJ; two brothers, Thomas Velez of Bellport, NY and Carlos Velez of Newark, NJ; two sisters, Maria Velez of Orlando, FL and Luz Maria Gonzalez of Fajardo, Puerto Rico; and nine grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Summer Road, Three Bridges, NJ under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in St. Magdalen Cemetery, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be Friday from 6:00-9:00 p.m. in the Funeral Home.
