Joseph Atamaniuk, Jr.

Joseph Atamaniuk, Jr., age 84 years, of Delaware Township, NJ, died on Sunday, November 7, 2010 at his home.

Born in Flushing, NY, January 5, 1926, he was the son of the late Joseph and Sophie Luwa Atamaniuk.

He was a photo engraver with Art Color Publishing, Dunellen, NJ, then with the Philadelphia Inquirer and the New York Times. He was also formerly employed by Johns-Manville. He was a bartender for over forty years as well.

A United States Navy veteran of World War II, he served in the European Theatre as well as the Asiatic Pacific Theatre and later was honorably discharged from the United States Navy Reserves. He was a member of American Legion Post #159, Flemington, NJ as well as the VFW Post, Sergeantsville, NJ.

He was a former member of the Sergeantsville Volunteer Fire Department. He loved his tractors and his cars a 1969 Javelin and a 1971 Gran Tourino.

Surviving are his wife, Anna Barbara Yasunas Atamaniuk; three sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph J. and Leslie Atamaniuk of Ringwood, NJ, Gregory and Susan Atamaniuk of Novato, CA, and Glenn and Colleen Atamaniuk of Franklin, TN; a daughter, Valarie Bay of Phillipsburg, NJ; thirteen grandchildren: Joseph S., Michael, Kairamie, Nicholas, Nina, Brian, Danielle, Pamela, Parker, Corinne, Crosbie, Carlyn, and Kylee; and a great-granddaughter, Lilly.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 10 AM in Kirkpatrick Memorial Presbyterian Church, Ringoes, NJ. Interment will be in Rosemont Cemetery, Rosemont, NJ. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 6-9 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
