Joseph C. Dumas, age 92 years, of Piscataway Township, NJ, died peacefully at his home Wednesday, August 12, 2015..
Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on May 26, 1923, he was the son of the late Cyril and Olive Smith Dumas and brother of the late George Dumas.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Marie Dumas; two children, Renee Pinel and Rick Dumas along with three grandchildren, William Dumas, Rachel Dumas and Beau Dumas Bickar.
Joe was a US Navy veteran of World War 2, serving 1943-1946. He was a radio operator stationed at Pearl Harbor in 1946.
He was employed by Dow Chemical his entire work career and was promoted to Executive Salesman and transferred from Michigan to Rockefeller Center, New York City.
Joe enjoyed and instructed tennis and Tai Chi. Other interests included traveling, canoeing in Michigan, enjoying the outdoors and he was also an avid reader.
A Celebration of Life is being arranged and details will be forthcoming.
