Joseph C. Herzog

Joseph C. Herzog, age 26 years, of Flemington, NJ entered eternal peace on October 21, 2017.

“Joey” as he was known to his family and friends, is survived by his loving parents, Carol and Fred Herzog; one older brother, Fred Herzog, Jr.; a loving aunt, Mary Matthiessen; cousins, Christopher and Ryan and many other extended family and friends.

Joey was a 2009 graduate of Hunterdon Central Regional High School, where he was a respected captain of the football team. His outstanding athletic skills as a defensive lineman earned him 1st Team All-Conference, All-County, and 3rd Team All-State recognition throughout his high school career. He was dedicated to enriching youth sports and greatly enjoyed working as a NJSIAA certified football, basketball and lacrosse official.

Joey’s entrepreneurial spirit enabled him to start his own landscaping business. His love of trucks began at an early age and he achieved his dream when he went on to work as a heavy equipment operator.

But most of all, Joey was a loving and giving son, brother and friend and as soft spoken as he was, he truly loved the people who touched him throughout his life.

Funeral services for Joey officiated by the Rev. Walter Wiltorek, will be at 3:00 pm, Saturday, October 28, 2017 at the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Saturday at the funeral home.
