Joseph Ditzig, age 94 years, of Delaware Township, NJ, a former fifty-plus year Raritan Township, NJ resident, died on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at his home.
Born in Scheindorf, Romania, October 23, 1919, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Agnes Ditzig.
A longtime member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Delaware Township, NJ, Joseph was formerly a farmer, operating the Ditzig Chicken Farm, Raritan Township, NJ. He was also formerly the Supervising Plant Manager for Dannon Yogurt, Ridgefield Park, NJ and Long Island City, NY.
Joseph's hobby was his "work" and he lived by the motto of "less talking and more working." He loved his family greatly and worked hard to make sure that they were provided for as best that he could.
His wife of sixty-five years, Elizabeth Lochli Ditzig, died in 2009.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Hermann J. and Phoenix Ditzig in Singapore; a daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and Joseph Unger of Delaware Township, NJ; four grandchildren, Christopher and his wife Marianne Unger, Kathleen Ditzig, Marlene Ditzig and Margaret Ditzig; and a great-grandson, Daniel Unger.
Funeral Services wil be held on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Capner Street, Flemington, NJ. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00-3:00 p.m. in the Funeral Home.
