Joseph F. Roche, age 76 years, of Delaware Township, NJ, died on Thursday, February 17, 2005 in the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born in New York City, NY, March 18, 1928, son of the late Daniel and Mary Cunningham Roche, he had resided in Delaware Township for the past eight years, having previously resided in Oceanside, NY and Manhattan, NY.
He was a beverage distributor, working for over twenty years with Coca-Cola Bottling Company of New York, Manhattan, NY. He then went on to own and operate his own Coca-Cola distribution franchise for over twenty years, retiring in 1988.
A United States Army Veteran serving in the occupied areas of Europe after World War II, Mr. Roche was a member of the American Legion Post #159, Flemington, NJ and V.F.W. Post #5199, Oceanside, NY. He was a member of St. Magdalen Church, Flemington, NJ and the Knights of Columbus #3481, Oceanside, NY.
Survivng are his wife of fifty-four years, Margaret F. Roche (nee Woods); a daughter, Meg Riexinger and husband Douglas of Delaware Township, NJ; six sons, Joseph and wife Mary Beth Roche of Chalfont, PA, Denis and wife Lori Roche of Charleston, IL, Timothy and wife Cheryl Roche of Montgomery, NY, Kevin Roche of West Hartford, CT, Richard and wife Melissa Roche of Geneva, NY and Christopher Roche of North Massapequa, NY; four sisters, Mary Moran of Delray Beach, FL, Kathleen Edwards of Pearl River, NY, Margaret Mulligan of Fruitwood Park, FL and Helen Anderson of Suffern, NY; two brothers, Daniel Roche of Sebring, FL and Brother Gerard Roche of the Society of St. Paul, Dearborn, MI; and twelve grandchildren, Matthew, Kevin, Andrew and Caitlin Riexinger of Delaware Township, NJ, Joseph, Stefanie and Michael Roche of Chalfont, PA, Timothy and Shannon Roche of Montgomery, NY, Hannah Roche of Geneva, NY and Christine and Brittany Roche of North Massapequa, NY.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Entombment will follow in St. Magdalen Mausoleum, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be held Saturday from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
