Joseph Fink, Jr., age 68 years, died on Wednesday, October 19, 2005 at his residence.
Born in Ljubljana, Yugoslavia, February 1, 1937 to the late Josef and Ana Bozicnk Fink, he had resided in Shippensburg, PA since 1977, having previously lived in Germany and Flemington, NJ.
Mr. Fink became a displaced person during World War II who, along with his family, lived in a camp for 7 years. The Fink family immigrated to the United States in 1952.
He was employed by Merritt Brick Company, Flemington, NJ until his entrance into the United States Army.
Mr. Fink went on to become a career Master Sergeant in the United States Army, serving in Korea as well as serving two tours of duty in the Vietnam War. He also received a personal Presidential Commendation from President Jimmy Carter for energy conservation at Letterkenny Army Depot.
Mr. Fink was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Germany.
He was pre-deceased by his wife, Melva K. Kester Fink in 2001 and a sister, Anna Magnani in 1994.
Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Susan Fink and Tim McCall of Plymouth, MN; a brother, Ernest Fink of Murphy, NC; and a sister, Marie Pinckney of Delaware Township, NJ.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Flemington, NJ.
