Joseph J. Tigar, Sr.

Joseph J. Tigar, Sr., age 72 years, of Franklin Township, NJ died Friday, May 1, 2015, at his home.

Born in Somerville, NJ, December 24, 1942, son of the late Leroy and Elizabeth Simon Tigar, he had resided in Hunterdon County all his life.

He was formerly a machinist for 3M Company for nineteen years and then was a custodian at Voorhees High School for twenty years until retiring in 2008.

A member of Flemington Moose Lodge, he served in the US Army 1964-1968.

Surviving are his wife of twenty-nine years, Joan Heyduke Tigar; a daughter, JoAnn Apgar of Milford, NJ; a son, Joseph Tigar, Jr. of Goodlettsville, TN; three grandchildren, Brittany, Lauren and Brad Apgar; and a brother, Leroy Tigar of Asbury, NJ.

Arrangements and interment will be private under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, Memorial Processing Center, PO Box 7, East Syracuse, NY 13057-0007.
