Joseph R. Smith

Joseph R. Smith, age 80 years, of Three Bridges, NJ, died on Friday, January 18, 2008 in the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born in Three Bridges, NJ, April 7, 1927, son of the late Rolland R. and Evelyn Dilts Smith, he had resided in Three Bridges all his life.

He was a member of Local #593 of the Laborers Union, Hillsborough, NJ.

A United States Navy Veteran of World War II, he was also a member of the National Rifle Association, the Flemington American Legion Post #159 and the Flemington V.F.W. Post #7856, Flemington, NJ.

His wife, Meta Smith, died in 1991.

Surviving are two sons, Joseph C. Smith of Flemington, NJ and Richard R. Smith of Newtown, PA; and three grandsons, Matthew, Joshua and Ryan Smith.
