Josephine Bonfantino

Josephine Bonfantino, age 73 years, of East Amwell Township, NJ, died on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at her home.

Born in Noepoli, Italy, August 27, 1936, daughter of the late Pietro and Maria Cafaro Viola, she had resided in East Amwell Township for the past eight years, having formerly lived in Bound Brook and Jersey City, NJ.

A Communicant of St. John The Evangelist Church, Lambertville, NJ, Mrs. Bonfantino was formerly a Chef at her son's restaurant in Somerville, NJ.

Her husband, Giovanni Bonfantino, died in 2007.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Isabella Bonfantino of East Amwell Township, NJ; two daughters and sons-in-law, Grace and Craig Reading of Lambertville, NJ and Maria and Michael Foley of Point Pleasant, NJ; five grandchildren, Giovanni and Josephine Bonfantino, Giulia and Marcus Reading and Adrian Foley; a nephew, Giuseppe Ferrara of East Amwell Township, NJ; a brother, Pasquale Viola in Italy; and two sisters, Antonietta and Rosina Viola, both in Italy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in St. John The Evangelist Church, 44 Bridge Street, Lambertville, NJ under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Entombment will follow in St. Magdalen Mausoleum, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be Friday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the Funeral Home.
