Josephine M. Manella, of Flemington, NJ, died on June 11, 2009.
She was the daughter of the late Michael and Louise Berodina-Sherry. Josephine was a lifelong resident of Flemington, NJ, born and raised in the house she lived in until one week prior to her death in hospice at Country Arch Care Center, Union Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey.
She was formerly employed as the manager at Higgins News Agency, Flemington, NJ. During World War II, she worked at the General Services Administration, Belle Mead, NJ. She was a school crossing guard and meter maid for many years for the Borough of Flemington.
A Communicant of St. Magdalen Church, Flemington, NJ, she was a graduate of Flemington High School.
Her husband, John Manella, died in 1993. She was also pre-deceased by a brother and two sisters; Daniel Sherry, Lena Gaburo, and Fannie Koblis. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Barbara Manella, of Oldwick, NJ; two nieces and one nephew.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:30 AM in St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in St. Magdalen Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 9-10 AM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
