Josephine Mikrut

Josephine Mikrut, age 96 years, of Tewksbury Township, NJ, died on Saturday, December 14, 2013 in the Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born in Perth Amboy, NJ, September 13, 1917, she had resided most of her life in Perth Amboy and Woodbridge, NJ before moving to Tewksbury Township in 1997.

A 1935 graduate of Perth Amboy High School, Josephine was a Registered Nurse and worked at Perth Amboy General Hospital for over ten years. She was a faithful member of Assumption Ukrainian Catholic Church in Perth Amboy as well as St. James Church in Woodbridge, NJ.

Her husband, John F. Mikrut, died in 1997 and a daughter, Jane Mikrut, died in 1996.

A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, she is survived by her daughter, June Mikrut in California; a son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey J. and Sally Mikrut of Tewksbury Township, NJ; a granddaughter, Jennifer Mikrut; a great granddaughter, Julianna Mikrut; and her Rottweiler “grand-pups,” Baby, Roxy and Brandy, whose names brought an immediate smile to her face when she was at the Hunterdon Care Center.
