Joyce A. Schragger

Joyce A. Schragger passed peacefully on June 20th at the Hunterdon Care Center in Flemington, NJ. She was born in Pennington, NJ on August 1, 1933, the daughter of the late Vincenzo and Mary (Tabilio) DeMatteo. Joyce was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Robert L. Schragger, her first husband, Jack Cust Sr., and her brother John G. DeMatteo. She is survived by her daughter, Roxanne Cust of Brigantine, NJ, two sons Jack Cust Jr.(Faith) of Stanton, NJ, Robert E. Schragger (Bob Burns) of Burlington, NJ and sister in-law, Mary DeMatteo and three nephews, her grandchildren Matthew Higgins of Port St Lucie, FL, Jack Cust III of Bridgewater, NJ, Michael Cust of Flemington, NJ, Kevin Cust of Whitehouse, NJ and six great grandchildren. Joyce enjoyed cooking and will be remembered for her famous meatballs and lasagna, a recipe that she vigorously guarded. She cherished being surrounded by all of her family-aunts, uncles, cousins, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved attending all of her grandchildren's baseball games and her many trips to Atlantic City. She was a long time employee of the Mercer County Board of Social Services in Trenton, NJ. Visitation will be held Monday, June 27th, from 4 to 7 PM and Tuesday morning from 9 to 10 AM at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home 147 Main Street Flemington, NJ 08822. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, June 28th at 10:30 am at St Magdalen's Church 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in Princeton Memorial Park in Robbinsville, NJ. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hunterdon Hospice, 2100 Wescott Drive, Flemington, NJ 08822.
