Joyce E. Snyder

December 20, 1930 — May 3, 2020

Joyce Ellen Snyder passed away on May 3, 2020 at the age of 89 in the Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township, NJ. She was born on December 20, 1930, the daughter of the late Theodore Nelson and Lydia Karg Trimmer. A long-time resident of Flemington, Joyce graduated from Flemington High School with the Class of 1949 where she met her husband, Marvin “Spike” Snyder. They were happily married for forty-nine years. She worked as a secretary to the Hunterdon County Board of Realtors and later for the Cancer Society of Flemington. Her friendly, upbeat personality was an asset to her as a Past President of the Flemington-Raritan PTA and as a volunteer patient representative at the Hunterdon Medical Center. She and her husband also had a great interest in antiques, and they made a small business out of the purchase, refinishing and selling of furniture, toys, and tools. She is survived by her three daughters, Deborah and Bruce Howard of Clinton Township, NJ, Diane and Bruce Norris, of Conway, SC, and Kimberly Snyder also of Clinton Township, NJ. In addition, she had three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. The family thought their mom Joyce could be summed up with this quote: “Wherever a beautiful soul has been, there is a trail of beautiful memories.” -Unknown The family requests that any memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 8th Ave, New York, NY 10001. Private arrangements are under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
