Joyce Marie Eichlin, age 89 years, of Union Township, NJ, passed away peacefully the evening of Monday, December 2, 2024, at Country Arch Care Center, Pittstown, NJ. Born on July 13, 1935, in Holland Township, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Lillie (Perrine) Johnson and Henry Johnson, Sr. She grew up in Califon, NJ and had resided in Hunterdon County, NJ her entire life.
Joyce's professional journey began in the telecommunications industry, where she dedicated her skills as a phone operator. Throughout her esteemed career, she worked for United Telephone Service, Centurylink, and Bright Speed. Additionally, she spent valuable time serving as a nurse’s aide, exemplifying her compassionate nature and her unwavering commitment to helping others.
Beyond her career, she was a former member of the Quakertown United Methodist Church, Quakertown, NJ. Moreover, Joyce was known to be a devoted family woman who cherished her role as a mother and grandmother. Joyce took great joy in spoiling her grandchildren and embraced every opportunity to create cherished memories with them and the rest of her family.
Additionally, in her spare time Joyce had a variety of interests. She loved birdwatching and had a delightful collection of birdhouses that showcased her appreciation for nature. Her culinary skills shone through during special occasions and family gatherings, where her cooking became the heart of celebrations.
She was predeceased by her husband of fifty-two years, the late Richard L. Eichlin, Sr., who passed away in 2008, and her son, the late Richard L. Eichlin, Jr., who passed away in 2020.
Joyce’s legacy will live on in the hearts of her surviving children, Brian K. Eichlin, Julie A. Fleck and her husband Steven, and Lori J. Eichlin; her five grandchildren: Trinity Rajch, Brittney Stutz, Kevin Fleck, Sarah Eichlin, and Brian Eichlin, Jr.; along with several great-grandchildren.
Graveside services in the family plot at Locust Grove Cemetery, Quakertown, NJ will take place on Monday, December 9, 2024 at 1:30 PM.
