Joyce Helen Zambek, of Baptistown NJ, died Saturday, June 17, 2023 at Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Township NJ.
Joyce was born in Rosemont NJ, daughter of the late Charles and Helen (Roth) Fackleman, she lived in Hunterdon County NJ all of her life and was a resident of Baptistown since 1960.
Joyce worked for a few years in the office of a local bank, but was a homemaker raising her two sons for much of her life. She was described as a phenomenal cook, known especially for her tasty homemade spaghetti and barbecue sauces.
Interested in many kinds of music, Joyce loved old Country stylings of Merle Haggard, George Strait, Johhny Cash, Hank Williams and many other artists. If not watching a cooking show, many of her favorite memories were spent watching various television programs and radio broadcasts with her son, Mark. The two often took in news, a music awards show or a sporting event, especially a good football game.
Joyce and her late husband, Walter Zambek, enjoyed taking trips to Lancaster PA and other places in the area. Her faith was very important to Joyce, and for nearly the past 20 years, was a member of the Quakertown United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, Joyce was predeceased by her husband, Walter Joseph Zambek in 2012 and her son, Gary Matthew Zambek in 2011. She is survived by her son, Mark Zambek of Baptistown NJ, and her cousin, Kim Faubel of Lambertville NJ.
Funeral services for Joyce will be officiated by the Rev. Joan Palmer at 1:00 pm on Friday, June 23, 2023 at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington NJ. Interment will follow at Locust Grove Cemetery in Quakertown NJ. Calling hour will be Friday from 12:00 pm until the time of service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions in Joyce’s name may be made to the Quakertown United Methodist Church, 1187 Croton Rd, Quakertown, NJ 08868.
